BIO EVA from SUGARCANE – SOLE

Biomass EVA is an ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) copolymer which is made from an abundant and renewable resource, sugarcane. It has the characteristics of plastic but totally biodegradable. With a soft and cushioned feel it makes the ideal sole for our sustainable and recyclable footwear. 

RECYCLED RUBBER TYRE – TREAD

5.6 million tyres are discarded every year in Australia and at present over half either go into landfill or are illegally dumped.  The Stawell mine in Victoria is estimated to have approx. 9 million tyres alone. 

We want to address this issue by reducing the amount of end of life tyres damaging our environment by repurposing tyres to make the soles of our Thongs and then reusing those soles at the end of their life by reusing them again and again in our soles. 

EssBs and its manufacturing partners have developed the technologies to be able to use the highest percentage of recycled rubber tyres in producing the soles of our Thongs as well as using sustainable renewable natural rubber.

With advanced technologies we are now able to recycle our shoes and all it’s materials to make new components for our soles of our next generation of shoes, thus completing a closed loop lifecycle of the EssBs footwear.
